Jeep Cleans Up at Texas Truck Rodeo

While it's true that Kanehoe is a long, long ways away from San Antonio, Texas, which is where the Texas Auto Writers Assocation's annual Truck Rodeo takes place, the vehicles that we sell are directly related to those that recently presented themselves in one of the year's most important truck and SUV award ceremonies.

Every year, the TAW, comprised of around 60 writers, looks at 70+ trucks and SUVs in a number of different categories to determine which of each is the year's best. For the 2015 model year, we here at Windward Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM were pleased to see some JeepĀ® vehicles win their segments. Jeep SUVs are designed to be among the best in the industry, but accolades like these prove that they do, in fact, hold their own amid some really stiff competition.

Specifically, Jeep won the following segments at the Truck Rodeo earlier this month:
Compact SUV: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk
Midsize SUV: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4x4
Midsize Luxury SUV: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit EcoDiesel 4x4
Off-Road SUV: 2015 Jeep Wrangler
SUV of Texas: 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
That's not a bad haul, especially considering how hard competing automakers have worked in the last several years to build SUVs as good as the ones Jeep builds. The Wrangler, for example, will probably always be the off-road king, and we were glad to see it win that particular category.

Of the sixteen crossover and SUV categories, Jeep won five of the Texas Auto Writers Association's awards. That's not bad, and even here in Hawaii, we understand how nice it is to sell award-winners like the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler.
